Our Beliefs
GOD
There is one God who exists eternally in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. They are equal and eternal - distinct from each other yet one. This foundational doctrine of God’s triune nature is called Trinity.
(Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 3:16-17, Mark 12:29, John 1:1, 1 John 5:7-8)
JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is God the Son. He is the only man to have ever walked the earth who lived a completely sinless life. He was born of a virgin, performed miracles and atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood by dying on the cross. He rose from the dead three days after His crucifixion, in fulfilment of the Scriptures, He then ascended to the right hand of the Father and will one day return in power and glory.
(Isaiah 9:6, Hebrews 9:28; 4:15-16, Matthew 24:36, Luke 1:35, John 14:6, 1 Timothy 2:5, 1 Timothy 3:16)
HOLY SPIRIT
According to the Scriptures, The Holy Spirit leads us into all truth. He comforts us, teaches us, gives us spiritual gifts and reminds us of everything Jesus has spoken. The Holy Spirit also convicts the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. He is the Supernatural Being that baptizes all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.
(Psalm 95:7-8, John 14:15-18; 25-26, John 16:7-11, 2 Corinthians 3:6, 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, Hebrews 3:7-11,
Romans 8:9, Ephesians 5:18)
THE HOLY BIBLE
The Holy Bible is the written authoritative Word of God. In its original text inspired by God, through the writers, the Holy Bible is infallible and inerrant. It is the foundation we build our lives upon and the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths.
(Proverbs 30:5, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Romans 16:25-26, Revelation 22:18)
MAN
God created man in His own image and likeness – male and female; both a spiritual and physical being with the capacity of being morally upright. But because of voluntary transgression (sin) against God’s Word, man fell and the only hope of redemption is Jesus
Christ.
(Genesis 1:26-28; 3:1-7, Romans 5:12-21)
SALVATION
The fall of man created a separation between God and humanity, leaving people spiritually lost and facing an eternity of separation from Him. God, in His great love and desire that no one should perish, sent Jesus Christ into the world. Jesus Christ provided the only path to salvation and the forgiveness of sins through His sacrificial death and the shedding of His
blood on the cross.
Salvation takes place when individuals put their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, believing in their hearts and confessing with their mouth that Jesus is Lord. Salvation is a gift from God—completely undeserved, unearned and unattainable through human effort or good works. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
(2 Corinthians 5:7, Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9, Galatians 2:16, Acts 4:12; 16:31, Titus 3:5, Hebrews 9:22)
TWO SACRAMENTS
Water Baptism: Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the believer is commanded to be baptised in water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is our outward action of our inward conviction to follow Jesus Christ forever.
(Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38; 8:12; 36-38, Mark 16:16, John 3:5)
Holy Communion: It is the unique time in God’s presence when the elements of bread and grape juice (representing the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ) is taken in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross.
(Matthew 26:26-29, 1 Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25, Acts 2:42)
THE CHURCH
The Church is the body of Christ, made up of born-again believers who carry the same mission of spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ to the whole world. The Church is not a building or location but the local and global community of believers who follow Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Locally, our church gathers every week on Sundays and in small groups during the week to worship, pray, grow through Biblical instruction while strengthening and supporting each other.
(Matthew 16:13-18, Acts 2:42-47, Romans 12:4-5, Ephesians 2:19-22, Hebrews 10:25; 12:23, John 17:20-23)
THE FUTURE / JESUS IS COMING BACK AGAIN
Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will happen at a time that no one knows except God the Father, according to Scriptures. After living one life on earth, those who have rejected salvation through Jesus Christ will be judged by God and eternally separated from Him. Believers will spend eternity with God, worshipping, serving and reigning with Him for all eternity.
(Matthew 24:36-44, Acts 1:11, Revelation 1:7, Revelation 22:1-5)
